I couldn’t find the tool we needed, so I set out to build it.
When my mum, Jean, began to need more support, the technology that was meant to help only seemed to get in the way. The phone became confusing. Reminders were missed. Calls went unanswered. And the worry, the quiet, constant worry, never really switched off.
We pieced together our own workarounds from the bits of tech we already knew. They helped, for a while. But as things changed, keeping it all going became its own full-time job.
I couldn’t find a single solution that brought it together, so I set out to build one. Mary Care is the platform I wish our family had had.
And the name? Mary was my Grandma, Jean’s mum. For as long as anyone can remember, she was the one who quietly held the whole family together, looking after everyone before herself. Naming this after her was the most natural thing in the world.
